Venezuelan Congress of Ecology

The Venezuelan Congress of Ecology (Congreso Venezolano de Ecología, CVE) is a biennial scientific event where national and international ecologists gather to present the results of their research across all areas of this important discipline, such as community ecology, population ecology, ecophysiology, agroecology, environmental education, and climate change, among others. The eleventh edition of the CVE was held from November 9 to 13 of that year, on Isla de Margarita, and was organized by a group of professors from Universidad Simón Bolívar together with the Venezuelan Society of Ecology. Since its beginnings in 1991, the CVE has constituted a unique space for the exchange of knowledge among ecologists, students, and people interested in learning about the advances in research across the various fields of ecology in Venezuela. It is important to highlight that ecology is becoming increasingly important for the sustainable development of our country and for the maintenance of ecosystems at the global level. Through the exchange of ideas and knowledge that takes place at the CVE, we hope to contribute to that scientific progress and the solutions that derive from it. For this reason, the motto of the XI CVE was “Knowledge that generates solutions” (“Conocimiento que genera soluciones”).
