Legal provisions violated in the Los Roques Archipelago National Park

Through a statement, they denounce that the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism seeks to illegally grant concessions for the construction of lodges within the National Park.

On the website of the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism, in the section corresponding to the offer of tourism investment in the national territory through the 1st Business Round, an offer of concession has been published for the construction of infrastructure for tourist accommodation in the Los Roques Archipelago National Park.

Through a statement, numerous professionals in the area of environmental management express their concern and reprobation of this decision, since any granting of concessions for the development of tourist activities in the Los Roques Archipelago National Park constitutes a violation of legal provisions and puts at risk the natural integrity and biological diversity of the Park.

The statement demands from INPARQUES, Francisco de Miranda Insular Territory, MINTUR and other state agencies and private companies, respect for the Management and Zoning Plan and Regulations, as well as all current legal provisions that support the condition of the Los Roques Archipelago National Park.
